Ghost Ranch Mesa
I was lucky enough to take a retablo
painting class at Ghost Ranch, just outside of Abiquiu, New Mexico.
Yes, that's where Georgia O'Keefe used to paint, but she always
did the big, blue mountain. I, myself, couldn't take my eyes off
this mesa, which at sunset, looked as though it was lit from within.
Twice, in the week I was there, I saw a double rainbow over the
mesa, at sunset. Now, if I painted that, I would look like Thomas
Kincaid! Unlike Kincaid, my philosophy is that some things are best
left to nature. Thus, no rainbow in this piece.
