The Man Under the Coffee Table

This piece was inspired by a book called One Hundred and One Ways, by Mako Yoshikawa.  My story isn't her story, but what I personalized about her novel was the strong presence of a person in the daily parts of your life, even when, for all intents and purposes, they are not  really part of your existence in any real way.  This painting is best understood if you watch it while listening to Dave Matthew's Band's song "Spoon."  You'll really get it if you have unresolved relationships rattling around in your brain.
