Every year in March, the Dieticians of Canada’s Nutrition Month campaign reminds us of the importance of healthy eating and the positive impact nutrition has on our health and well-being.
This year’s theme again challenges us to Celebrate Food, From Field to Table.
What does that mean? Maybe it’s making a commitment to eating vegetarian once a week. Or to incorporate locally grown or made products into every meal. To shop at a neighbourhood market rather than the big-box alternative or (if you eat like me) actually get in all your servings of fruits and veggies.
Rather than recreate the content, I’ll direct you to last year’s post which had some handy-dandy resources for doing just this.
The Dieticians of Canada website also has some cool tools and hip tips for increasing your healthy-eating know-how.
But in honour of all the good work dieticians do, Savour Winnipeg will also dedicate the March theme to healthy eating.
We’ll feature tasty, healthy recipes, highlight super-local markets, talk health benefits of wine and beer, and review some super-healthy hangouts around town.
